Ames Infrastructure Modernization

Project Description

Ames National Laboratory developed a project plan, Ames Infrastructure Modernization (AIM), to address facilities gaps primarily in Harley Wilhelm Hall, Spedding Hall, and Metals Development. Gaps that will be addressed with this project include plumbing systems, building envelopes, UPS and emergency power systems, telecommunication systems, and deteriorating research laboratory spaces. The Mission Need was approved by the Office of Science on September 9, 2019 followed by the approval of CD-0 on September 16. The Total Project Cost (TPC) range for the preliminary alternatives identified during Mission Need is $10.0M to $90.0M (target $30.0M). The Laboratory is currently working toward achieving CD-1 and starting the design effort for this project in FY 2021. The planned construction window for this project is FY 2023 to FY 2026.
