Agenda (Final Agenda)
The Department of Energy Isotope Program (DOE IP), in the DOE Office of Science (SC), is sponsoring the 8th Workshop on Isotope Federal Supply and Demand. Workshop participation is limited to representatives of Federal agencies. This one-day workshop aims to optimize interactions between Federal entities to mitigate potential shortages of isotopes with critical strategic importance to the Nation and to exchange information on isotope supply and demand.
The single day workshop will take place virtually using Zoom for Government on January 24, 2023.
We encourage all Federal agencies and departments that have isotope needs or are sponsoring activities in need of isotope products to be represented at this workshop. If you are interested in attending, please fill out the online registration form as soon as possible.
This workshop will focus on the use, supply, and demand of isotopes from a Federal perspective. Areas to be discussed include homeland defense, medicine, agriculture, as well as basic and applied research. Discussions will include existing supplies of isotopes and efforts underway to increase supply of critical isotopes. Potential supply shortages of isotopes will be discussed alongside efforts to optimize their availability. The results of this workshop and subsequently submitted information will serve as crucial input to increase isotope supply and mitigate shortages of critical isotopes.
All discussions at the workshop will be unclassified with any classified discussions coordinated separately.
Questions regarding the workshop can be directed to Jehanne.Gillo@science.doe.gov and Kenneth.Brooks@science.doe.gov.
